The ideal candidate will be involved in patent counseling, procurement, and opinions, with opportunities for licensing and enforcement. This role requires practical experience and in-depth knowledge of Biology or Biotechnology. Job Duties:Counsel clients on effective IP strategy options.Perform patent procurement activities, including:Preparation and prosecution of complex patent applications.Managing a global patent portfolio across multiple jurisdictions by instructing foreign patent counsel in the prosecution of foreign counterpart applications.Consulting with inventors, technical experts, and patent portfolio managers.Conduct IP-related due diligence for opinions, including patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement and invalidity analyses.Engage in patent counseling, procurement, and opinion development.Collaborate on licensing and enforcement activities. Requirements:Practical experience and in-depth knowledge of Biology or Biotechnology.Good standing in the bar(s) where licensed to practice law.Active USPTO Registration.Superior technical, verbal, and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Superior academic record.Excellent written and communication skills.Strong attention to detail. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Ph.D. or MS in a biology discipline (e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, or biotechnology). Certifications:Admission to practice law in good standing.Active USPTO Registration. Skills:Superior technical, verbal, and written communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to manage complex patent portfolios.Ability to consult with inventors and technical experts. Experience:4+ years of patent prosecution experience, including the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, managing global patent portfolios, client counseling, and opinion development.
