Van-Am Tool & Engineering is a custom manufacturer located in St. Joseph, MO. We are currently interviewing strong candidates for a variety of positions to join our outstanding team! We are seeking experienced, dependable employees for Powder Coat Technician positions for NIGHT and WEEKEND SHIFTS. Responsible for loading, cleaning, painting, curing, final inspection, unloading, caulking, and packaging and delivery of finished painted products to the customer by using specific paint specifications along with the correct components and parts necessary to produce the product. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to reading and interpreting blueprints, positions, parts, and ensuring the workmanship standards and identify if any repairs are needed and reporting errors in the manufacturing line by performing the following duties. Night Shift: 6:30PM - 5:00AM, M-Th - 4 Days ($2.00/hr. Differential) Weekends: 6:00AM - 6:30PM, F-Su - 3 Days (11% Differential) Base Rate of Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Van-Am provides a full employee benefits package including m edical, dental, vision, life, disability and 401K! Responsibilities: Sets up work area for efficient processing and maximum output of jobs. Ensures a high level of proficiency across all operations within a focused team environment. Processes product through the powder coating paint system(s) including loading, unloading, cleaning, painting, curing, and packaging operations quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail and quality. Ensures parts are quickly processed, counted, stacked, and/or packaged in the best possible fashion for the following operation. Identifies visual and dimensional defects and ensures that potential problems are effectively communicated to department lead or supervisor. Maintains awareness of estimated production standard processing times and alerts supervisor when time is unachievable. Ensures that parts are correct according to the print and/or traveler and paint quality specifications. Monitors machine operation and quality of parts and makes machine adjustments as necessary. Operates all required inspection equipment and tools to measure and document quality data for each part or batch. Reads, understands, and implements all information and instructions included on job travelers, technical drawings, production control plans, and verbal instructions. Ensures the proper completion of all manufacturing and inspection documentation as required by company policies. Packages completed parts quickly and in a way that ensures minimum damage during transit. Ensures that parts are quickly delivered to the following operation or shipping as required. Contributes strongly and consistently on a daily basis to the paint team to ensure consistent product and cooperative communication. Identifies and/or cooperates with potential opportunities for efficiency/productivity increases and cost reduction strategies. Ensures absolute compliance with safety and personal protective equipment requirements for both yourself and others in the department. Maintains a clean, organized work area. Strives to assume the company's commitments as their own and fulfills them with a sense of pride and urgency. Performs other duties as requested by the supervisor. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
